This activity, articulated in two meetings - the first online, the second onsite - intends to delve into some punctual aspects of the multiple reactivation activities fielded by practitioners, academics and communities, in order to propose collective reflections and conceptual frameworks.
The table explores issues, approaches and goals related to the involvement of different types of communities (both onsite and online) aimed at the reactivation of small fortified towns located and inland areas. Among the topics under discussion, particular attention is paid to the tools with which design is able to engage different types of communities (e.g., participatory activities, co-design, ...) and in which stages of the design process these tools are used.
Participants: Rita Elvira Adamo – Belmondo, Federica Benatti – Live In Vaccarizzo, Barbara Bollini (Castello Di Borgo Maggiore, San Marino) – Riqualificazione Della Frazione Di Baldasserona, Jamila Campagna – Tap Path. The table examines the ways in which design is used as a tool for mapping strategies of reactivation in small fortified towns and in inland areas. Particular attention will be paid to ways and tools useful for assessing the impact of activities in relation to 4 specific categories: economy, society, environment and culture.

The table focuses on initiatives that intend to create networks of territories, connecting and enhancing places, local specificities and people. In particular, we want to analyze different network models through which it is possible to represent stakeholders involved, modes of interaction, time and space of action, also identifying at what time and in what ways design is embedded within these networks.
